The new Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) has a significant impact on the workplace. On April 24, 2020, Leonard Segal was one of the presenters for a Minnesota Continuing Legal Education program that addressed the FFCRA, including the new Emergency Family & Medical Leave Expansion Act and the new Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act.
Lenny’s portion of the presentation focus on an unpleasant impact of the coronavirus, specifically layoffs, furloughs, terminations and reductions in pay. While not pleasant, many companies had to resort to such actions in order to remain in business. But, in so doing, were they complying with the law? That was the focus of Lenny’s presentation.
