Leonard Segal Presented on Pre-Employment Medical Exams, Drug & Alcohol Testing, and Fitness For Duty Examinations

On June 7, 2012, Leonard Segal presented at a seminar on pre-employment medical examinations sponsored by Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Minnesota Occupational Health, and Cost Reduction Technology.  Lenny addressed the legal constraints on medical exams of current employees and job applicants, including the use of fitness for duty exams before returning an employee to work following a leave of absence under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act.  Lenny also discussed drug and alcohol testing under Minnesota’s Drug and Alcohol Testing in the Workplace Act, including when such tests can be required and what can be done when an individual fails such a test.
