Minnesota Continuing Legal Education’s annual Strategic Solutions for Solo & Small Firms Conference was held this year from August 4-6, 2019, in Duluth, Minnesota. This year, both Leonard Segal and Jon Schindel were asked to speak at the conference.
Lenny presented “Employment Law for the Law Firm – Hiring, Firing and Everything in Between.” Law firms are no different than any other business when it comes to compliance with employment laws. This session was designed to help lawyers make sure they are in compliance with the law; as an added benefit, much of what Lenny discussed also could be applied to a law firm’s business clients.
Jon was part of two separate panels, both of which focused on running a successful law firm: “Planning for Profitability – Financial Metrics, Processes, Billing, Staffing and Compensation” and “Law Firm Staffing – Hiring Attorneys? Hiring Support Staff? Contract Workers? Compensation? Benefits?” Jon has overseen the growth of Seiler Schindel Segal over the years and, as such, is uniquely suited to speak on these topics.
