On February 13, Segal Duffek Moen attorney Kyle Moen was an invited guest at Richfield Middle School’s Career Day. Mr. Moen presented to more than 50 eighth grade students about his job as an attorney, his educational background, and what a typical day is like in the practice of law. Students learned about the difference between criminal law and civil law; how a transactional practice differs from a litigation practice; and how the real life practice of law is very different from what students see on television. Mr. Moen discussed some of the basic skills required to be an effective attorney, and shared his thoughts on how students can develop these skills in high school and college. Thanks to the students, teacher John H. Dorfner, and counselor Toby Bergland for the invitation and warm reception.
